A new state-of-the-art filling station has officially opened along the Bo Taiama Highway, marking another significant boost to commercial development in Bo City.

The filling station, Lugbu Investment, was formally commissioned on Sunday, 11 January 2025, at the Gbaima Road Junction, amid pomp and pageantry attended by city authorities, business leaders, and community members.

The facility, which is described as one of its kind in Bo, is designed to go beyond fuel services. According to the management, it will also house a salon, supermarket, gym, and other commercial services, contributing to job creation and improved service delivery in the city.

The filling station is owned by Engineer Mohamed Amara, a renowned businessman and engineer. The opening ceremony was graced by the Mayor of Bo City, His Worship Kobba Musa, officials of the Fire Force, representatives of regulatory institutions, dignitaries, as well as family and friends.

Speaking at the event, members of a business support group referred to as the Conclave expressed their enthusiasm for the investment. We support businesses like this because they create employment opportunities for young people and contribute to the improvement of Bo City’s infrastructure, a representative said.

In his remarks, Mayor Kobba Musa welcomed the development, describing it as a positive milestone for the city.I am glad that a filling station of this standard is being built during my tenure. The council will also benefit through revenue generated from its operations, the mayor stated.

Addressing guests, Engineer Mohamed Amara, Chief Executive Officer of Lugbu Investment, said the project is part of his commitment to fostering a positive business climate in Bo. This filling station is meant to provide reliable services to residents of Bo City while contributing to economic growth and employment, he said.

He added that his journey from humble beginnings to becoming a successful entrepreneur is a testament to hard work, discipline, and vision.

Representing the Petroleum Regulatory Agency (PRA), Ahmed Kaikai, the Regional Public Relations Officer, assured residents of improved fuel availability nationwide.

“The days of fuel black-marketing are over. There is now a steady supply of petrol and diesel across the country under the leadership of Brima Baluwa Koroma,” he noted.

The ceremony climaxed with the cutting of the ribbon, officially declaring the filling station open for business. A vote of thanks was delivered by the wife of the CEO, who expressed gratitude to all stakeholders for their support.

The opening of Lugbu Investment is expected to enhance fuel accessibility, create employment opportunities, and further strengthen Bo City’s growing commercial landscape.
