Sierra Leone’s national football team head coach, Amidu Karim, has unveiled his squad for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2025 qualifiers.

The Leone Stars are set to face Chad on September 6th in Liberia, followed by an away match against Zambia on September 10th.

Coach Karim expressed confidence in his team’s progress, emphasizing the importance of recent friendly matches due to the players’ limited game time since the end of the local league. The Leone Stars have already faced the Under-20 squad and are planning another friendly against Wilberforce to fine-tune their preparations.

The coach acknowledged the support from the Ministry of Sports, the National Sports Authority (NSA), and the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), describing their contributions as vital to the team’s readiness.

He also urged Sierra Leoneans to continue rallying behind the national team, highlighting the significance of their support in the crucial match against Chad.

“Your support would mean a lot on September 6th in Liberia,” Karim stated.

The selected goalkeepers are Mohamed Nbalie Kamara, Isaac Caulker, Francis Koroma.

Defenders are Steven Roy Caulker, Osman J. Kakay, Abdul Jarjue Kabia, Emmanuel Sahr Samadiya, Yemi Dunia, Saidu Mansaray, Mohamed Bangura, Sallieu Tarawally.

Midfielders are Alusine Koroma, Alhassan Koroma, Kamil Amadu Conteh, Ibrahim Sillah, Saidu Fofanah, Mustapha Bundu, Jonathan Sahr Morsay, Sulaiman Borbor Kaikai, Hindolo Thomas E. Mustapha.

The forwards are Daniel Kanu, Joshua Abdulai Koroma, Musa Noah Kamara, Rodney Michael and Augustus Kargbo.

The Leone Stars will aim to secure crucial victories in their quest to qualify for the 2025 AFCON, with the nation’s hopes resting on their shoulders.
