John Samuel an unemployed University  student dwelling at Sheriff Town in Bo City has on September 1, 2026, committed to stand trial at the High Court in Kenema by His Worship, Magistrate Hadiru Daboh of Magistrate Court No.1 in Kenema for Prohibition of Possession and use of Drugs Contrary to Section 8(a) of the National Drugs Control Act of 2008.

The charge was read to the Defendant by Moses Ganawa the Registrar of the court in Kenema. Mr. Ganawa informed the court that on Monday, July 6, 2026, at Wanjama Police Checkpoint in the Small-Bo Chiefdom, Kenema Judicial District in the Eastern province of Sierra Leone, was found in possession of Two (2) parcels of loose quantity of Cannabisativa drugs without lawful Authority.

No plea was taken and he was committed to High Court for Trial.

In his ruling, Magistrate Hadiru Daboh having gone through the evidences in court and having regards that Prosecution has discharged its task in its entirety, the Magistrate was left with no alternative but to commit the Defendant, John Samuel to High Court in Kenema for Trial.

He was remanded in custody at the Sierra Leone Correctional Centre (SLCC) in Kenema.

The matter was prosecuted by Woman Police Sergeant, Bakarr Watta attached to the Legal and Justice Support Department in the Kenema Police Division.
