Eastina M.B. Taylor, a seasoned journalist and media consultant with over 15 years of experience, has dedicated her career to promoting human rights, social justice, and gender equality. She is the current President of Women in the Media Sierra Leone, an organization focused on empowering female journalists to use their platforms to advocate for the welfare and rights of women and girls.
With a strong background in media and communications, Eastina has made significant strides in advancing women and girls’ empowerment. She co-founded Stand-Out Multimedia and Revive & Glow and previously managed Capital Radio Sierra Leone. Her leadership in these roles reflects her exceptional interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
As a 2018 Mandela Washington Fellow at Indiana University, Eastina gained recognition for her leadership and commitment to creating positive change. This accolade bolstered her ability to connect with global advocates of social justice and equality.
Throughout her career, she has worked with reputable organizations such as Radio I AM, AYV, BBC Media Action, On Our Radar, and Capital Radio. Her expertise spans broadcasting, storytelling, mentoring, and editing, which she uses to inspire change and build capacity within the media landscape.
Eastina’s academic foundation in communications complements her passion and commitment to using media as a tool for advocacy and empowerment. As the President of Women in the Media Sierra Leone, she continues to lead efforts to uplift women in journalism and beyond, cementing her legacy as a trailblazer in Sierra Leone’s media industry.
