Two Defendants, Abu Kamando a farmer of Madina village, Wandor Chiefdom and Mohamed Sheriff a herbalist in Kenema, Nongowa Chiefdom all of Kenema Judicial District have on January 8, 2025, remanded at the Sierra Leone Correctional Centre (SLCC) in Kenema by His Worship, Magistrate Hadiru Daboh of Magistrate Court No.1 for Murder and Attempted Murder.

A Defendant, Abu Kamando was charged to Court for allegedly committing Murder Contrary to Section 1 of the Offences against the Persons Act of 1861 as repealed and replaced by Section 1 of the Abolition of Death Penalty Act No.6 of 2022. Mohamed Sheriff was arraigned in Court for an offence of Attempted Murder Contrary to Section 18 of the Offences against the Persons Act 1861, wounding with intent Contrary to Section 18 of the Offences against the Persons Act of 1861 and for Causing Grievous Bodily Harms with Intent.

According to Prosecution, Abu Kamando on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at Kamando village bush, Wandor Chiefdom, Kenema Judicial District in the Eastern Province of Sierra Leone, allegedly Murdered Bundu Kamando. No plea was taken and the Defendant was remanded at the Sierra Leone Correctional Centre (SLCC) in Kenema. The matter was adjourned to January 20, 2026.

A Defendant, Mohamed Sheriff on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, at No.17 Sheikh Abubakarr Street, Lumbebu axis in Kenema City, attempted to murder Michel Paul Nicole by inflecting severe injuries on his left- and right-hand leg cutting off his left-hand tomb with a matchet and spraying liquid allegedly to be acid in his eyes. No plea was taken and he was remanded at the SLCC in Kenema. The matter was adjourned to January 16, 2025 for preliminaries. Both matters are prosecuted by Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Sulaiman Kamara Esq. attached to the Legal and Justice Support Department in the Kenema Police Division.
