A tragic incident has shaken residents of Consider Lane and surrounding communities after a three-year-old child who was reported missing was found dead early Tuesday morning at the Old CKC school compound.

According to family members, the child was last seen on Monday afternoon around 2:30 p.m. at Gassama Street, where he had been playing with other children in the neighbourhood. His sudden disappearance prompted an immediate search effort by his mother, relatives, and concerned residents.

Speaking to this reporter, the child’s aunt, who lives with the family in the same compound, explained that the search extended across nearby streets, including areas close to where the child’s body was later discovered. Despite their efforts, the child could not be found until the shocking discovery on Tuesday morning at approximately 8:00 a.m.

The circumstances surrounding the child’s death remain unclear, and the incident has left the community in deep grief and disbelief. Residents described the child as playful and full of life, making the tragedy even more painful.

The Sierra Leone Police have since taken custody of the body and launched an investigation to determine the cause of death and the events leading up to the incident. Authorities are urging anyone with relevant information to come forward to assist with the investigation.

As the community mourns, concerns over child safety and supervision have once again come to the forefront, with many calling for increased vigilance to prevent similar tragedies.

Further updates will be provided as the investigation progresses
