The President of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), Babadi Kamara, has participated in a high-level meeting of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), bringing together Presidents and General Secretaries from all 54 CAF Member Associations in Morocco.

The meeting, convened by CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe, was held on the sidelines of the 2026 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Final, contested between defending champions Senegal and host nation Morocco. It provided a strategic platform for African football leaders to deliberate on the future direction and development of the game across the continent.

Key discussions focused on football governance, competition structures, policy reforms, and sustained investment in grassroots and elite football development, the forum also addressed ways to strengthen CAF’s institutional capacity and ensure inclusive growth of the sport among member associations.

President Kamara’s participation underscores Sierra Leone’s commitment to active engagement within CAF and its determination to strengthen its voice and influence in continental football affairs. His presence at the meeting reflects the SLFA’s ongoing efforts to align with CAF’s vision for transparent governance, competitive football, and long-term development.

The 2026 AFCON final, which attracted global attention, served as a backdrop for the gathering, drawing football administrators, stakeholders, and fans from across Africa and beyond. The event further highlighted Africa’s expanding footprint on the global football stage and the importance of collaborative leadership in advancing the game.

Sierra Leone’s involvement in such high-level continental engagements signals renewed momentum in the country’s football administration and its ambition to play a more active role in shaping the future of African football.
