Four officials from the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) are currently attending a three-day CAF Club Licensing Regional seminar from May 20 to 22, 2024. The seminar, which is hosted at the Kempinski Hotel in Accra, aims to provide crucial updates and training on the CAF Club Licensing Online Platform (CLOP) and other key aspects of club licensing procedures.

The SLFA delegation includes Acting General Secretary, Mohamed Benson Bawoh, Head of Competitions and Club Licensing Manager, Sorie Ibrahim Sesay, Chairman of the First Instance Body, Siman Alie Mans Conteh and Chairman of the Appeals Body, Emmanuel Tamba Bundor. These officials are among representatives from fifteen Member Associations participating in the seminar.

The workshop covers a range of topics essential for the proper implementation and management of club licensing systems. These include updates on the usage of the CLOP, a review of the status and implementation of club licensing systems in national competitions, and preparation for communicating licensing decisions before the deadline for CAF Interclub competitions 2024/25 for both men’s and women’s teams. Additionally, the seminar includes a refresher session on stadium pre-inspection procedures, practical on-site stadium inspection training, and specific training for Club Licensing Managers on using the CLOP stadium module.

The event was inaugurated by Kurt Okraku, President of the Ghana Football Association, with opening remarks delivered by Mohammad Sidat, Head of Professional Football at CAF. The seminar is expected to enhance the capabilities of Member Associations in effectively managing club licensing processes and ensuring compliance with CAF standards.
