PUPIL JAILED For LARCENY

20-year-old school going pupil, one Morie Mansaray a resident of Amadu Street in Kenema has recently been sentenced by Magistrate Mustapha Briama-Jah of Magistrate Court No.2 in Kenema for Larceny contrary to Section 2 of the Larceny Act of 1916.

The accused on Thursday, April 18, 2024 at No.12 Amadu Street in Kenema City, allegedly stole one Tecno Spark 5 mobile phone valued Two Thousand New Leones (NLe 2,000/00) property of one Fatmata Mansaray while in custody of Daniel Kanneh.

He pleaded guilty and begged for mercy and was sentenced for four years imprisonment at the Sierra Leone Correctional Service (SLCS) in Kenema.

In similar development and in the same court room, one Morie Gbessay of Burma 3 Section in Kenema was sent to the Sierra Leone Correctional Service (SLCS) for a jail term of eighteen months (18).

Morie Gbessay was charged to Court for Domestic Violence Contrary to Section 2(1) of the Domestic Violence Act No.20 of 2007.

The accused on March 6, 2024 at Burma two Section in Kenema, unreasonably withheld the sum of eight thousand New Leones (NLe 8, 000/00) property of which one Yainoh Toroka had interest in. He pleaded not but was found guilty by the court and was sentenced for eighteen months imprisonment.

The matter was prosecuted by Police Constables 13536 Moseray Sylvester Alfred and Police Constable 13570 Fatmata Sillah, attached to the Legal and Justice Support Department at the Kenema Police Station.
