In a bid to strengthen community development efforts across Port Loko District, local councillors have received essential operational tools to enhance their capacity for service delivery. The distribution event, which took place on October 16, 2024, was organized by the Port Loko District Council in collaboration with key development partners.

The tools, which include motorbikes, office supplies, and field equipment, are intended to facilitate the councillors’ ability to effectively monitor and execute projects in their respective wards. Speaking at the event, the Chairman of the District Council emphasized the importance of providing councillors with the necessary resources to ensure timely and impactful interventions in community development.

“This initiative is crucial for improving the standard of living across the district. With these tools, our councillors will be better equipped to engage with communities, identify pressing needs, and implement sustainable solutions,” said the Chairman.

The event was attended by councillors, representatives from civil society organizations, and local authorities, who expressed optimism that these tools will lead to more efficient governance and greater transparency in project implementation.

The operational tools are expected to boost the district’s ongoing efforts to tackle issues such as infrastructure development, healthcare access, and education improvement, ensuring that communities within Port Loko District benefit from enhanced service delivery.
