Police Constable PC 16023 Alhassan Tejan Kamara, currently serving at the Kamakwie Police Division, has pleaded guilty to disciplinary charges related to a brutal assault on his girlfriend. The incident, which occurred on September 1, 2024, prompted a public disciplinary hearing held at the Kamakwie Police Station.
The hearing was convened by the Inspector General of Police William Fayia Sellu, as a public demonstration of the police force’s commitment to zero tolerance for domestic violence. The IGP’s decision to conduct the hearing openly was intended to reinforce transparency and accountability within the police force and to educate the local community on the serious nature of domestic violence.
During the hearing, PC Kamara admitted guilt to all three charges leveled against him. The victim testified, providing crucial details prompting recommendation for the dismissal of the police officer.
