Mohamed Sheriff of Torkpumbu II Section in Kenema was convicted on one count of domestic violence, contrary to Section 2(1)(b) of the Domestic Violence Act, 2007 (Act No. 20 of 2007).

According to court records, the convict, on June 2, 2026, at Torkpumbu II Section in Kenema, unlawfully withheld the sum of Twenty-Two Thousand New Leones (Nle 22,000.00), belonging to his mother, thereby depriving her of funds to which she had a reasonable expectation of access and use.

Mohamed Sheriff pleaded guilty to the offence and appealed to the court for mercy.

After considering his plea, the court sentenced him to eighteen (18) months imprisonment at the Sierra Leone Correctional Centre (SLCC) in Kenema.

The matter was prosecuted by Police Constable 3492 Tonya Musa of Magistrate Court No. 2 in Kenema.
