His Worship, Magistrate George. B. Samai of Magistrate Court No.2 in Kenema has on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, sentenced one Twenty-Eight (28yrs.) years old Mohamed Koroma a mechanic to Twelve Months Imprisonment for larceny. He was arraigned in Court for Larceny contrary to section 2 of the Larceny Act of 1916. Another Defendant, Rugiatu Bangura arraigned before Magistrate Samai for receiving stolen property contrary to section 33 subsection 1 of the Larceny Act 1916.
The charges were read to the two Defendants by Emmanuel Cooper the clerk of the Court. Emmanual copper informed the Court that a Defendant, Mohamed Koroma on March 15, 2026, at Mano-Ngeigbla village, Dama Chiefdom, Kenema Judicial District in the Eastern Province of Sierra Leone stole one black and white Ewe sheep valued at Three Thousand New Leones (NLe 3,000/00), One bundle corrugated sheets valued at Eight Hundred New Leones (NLe800/00) and Two Jerry can Palm oil valued at Six Hundred New Leones ( NLe 600/00) all to the total valued of Four Thousand, Four Hundred New Leones ( NLe 4,400/00), Properties of Moseray Amodu.
A Defendant, Rugiatu Bangura on Monday, March 15, 2026 at Gofore Village, Dama Chiefdom in the Kenema Judicial District, received the aforementioned items from Mohamed Koroma Properties of Moseray Amodu. She was discharged for lack of sufficient evidence.
In another news, Vandi Swaray a student dwelling at Cow-yard Section in the outskirt of Kenema City, was sentenced to Eight months ( 8) imprisonment by Magistrate Samai for fraudulent conversion contrary to section 20 subsection 1 (IV)(b) of the Larceny Act 1916. Emmanual Cooper the clerk of the Court informed the Court that a Defendant, Vandi Swaray on May 2, 2026, at Limba Koryagbwema Section in Kenema, fraudulently converted to his own benefit one unregistered TVS Star motorbike valued at Twenty-five Thousand New Leones (NLe 25,000/00) entrusted to him by A212 Lansana for the purpose of Commercial riding.
He pleaded guilty and begged for mercy and was sentenced to 8 months imprisonment at the Sierra Leone Correctional Centre (SLCC) in Kenema.
The matters were prosecuted by Police Inspector, Aiah Mafinda Teh of Magistrate Court No.2 in Kenema.
