The Presiding Magistrate in Kenema, His Worship, Magistrate Hadiru Daboh of Magistrate Court No.1 has sent to jail one Raymond Coker to Twelve Months (12) imprisonment for domestic violence contrary to section 2 subsection 1 (b) of the Domestic Violence Act No.20 of 2007.

The charges were read to the Defendant by Brima Tomboyeke the clerk of the court. According to Mr. Tomboyeke, a Defendant, Raymond Coker on May 5, 2026 at Cow-yard Section in Kenema, unreasonably disposed of one memory stick valued at Two Hundred and Fifty New Leones ( NLe 250/00), One black power bank valued at One Hundred New Leones (NLe 100/00), Three assorted items valued at Seven Hundred and Fifty New Leones (NLe 750/00), One white Lacoste valued at Two Hundred New Leones (NLe 200/00) and fiscal sum of Thirteen Thousand, Eight Hundred New Leones ( NLe 13,800/00) all to the total valued of Fifteen Thousand, One Hundred New Leones ( NLe 15,100/00) properties of Hilda Coker which she has reasonable expectation of use whom you (Raymond Coker) have a domestic relationship to wit sister. Raymond Coker on the aforementioned date and Venue, emotionally abused Hilda Coker by making her feel constantly unhappy whom you (Raymond Coker) have a domestic relationship to wit sister. He pleaded not guilty but was found guilty by the court and sent to jail at the Sierra Leone Correctional Centre (SLCC) in Kenema for a jail term of 12-month Imprisonment.

The matter was prosecuted by Police Inspector, Alphan Samuel Musa, attached to the Legal and Justice Support Department at the Kenema Police Division.
