Fatima Sow of New England, Nyandeyama Section in Kenema City and Abdul Rahman Jalloh a business man, Burma 3 Section of the aforementioned city have on Thursday, September 19, 2024, Committed to High Court for trial by Magistrate Mustapha Briama-Jah of Magistrate Court No. 2 in Kenema.

The two accused persons were charged to Court for Conspiracy and Murder contrary to Law.

It could be recalled that the first accused, Fatima Sow and the second accused Abdul Rahman Jalloh on August 17, 2024 at New England, Nyandeyama Section in Kenema, Nongowa Chiefdom, Kenema Judicial District in the Eastern province, conspired with other unknown persons to commit a felony to wit murder.

On the aforementioned date and Venue, the second accused, Abdulrahman Jalloh allegedly murdered Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh. No plea was taken and the two accused persons were remanded at the Sierra Leone Correctional Centre in Kenema whilst the preliminary investigation (PI) was ongoing. The preliminary investigation which started on September 9, 2024, lasted for Ten (10) days. The court was jam-packed with batteries of Lawyer and people from all walks of life to witness the proceedings.

In his ruling, Magistrate Briama-Jah who was dressed in a Magistrate gown, told the court that having regards to the Prosecution evidence in its entirety, he holds that the Prosecution have established sufficient evidence to put the 1st and 2nd accused persons on trial, ” I therefore commit them to stand trial at the High Court”_ he said, adding that the 1st and 2nd accused are remanded in custody pending on the hearing and determination of the matter at the high court.

The matter was prosecuted by Police Inspector Aiah Mafinda Teh and Sulaiman Kamara associated with Lawyer Pawusu.I. Bangura.

The first accused, Fatima Sow was represented by lawyers led by Defence Counsel, Monya Sheriff and the second accused, Abdulrahman Jalloh, was represented by Lawyers led by Victor.S.S. Ansumana Esq.
