Sheikh Alhaji Mohamed “Omodu” Kamara, popularly known as Jagaban and an aspirant for the flagbearer position of the All People’s Congress (APC), has made a significant contribution to education by investing NLe 500,000 in Baptist School, donating ten computers, and providing lunch for all pupils of the institution.

The support, which covers pupils from Nursery 1 to Junior Secondary School (JSS) 3, underscores Jagaban’s growing involvement in community development initiatives, particularly within the education sector.

Upon his arrival, Jagaban was warmly welcomed by pupils through a melodious song expressing appreciation for his generosity and visit. The JSS Principal, Mrs. Naure Fewiy, praised him for honoring a commitment he made during an earlier engagement with the school, where he took time to listen to the challenges faced by both staff and pupils.

She described the intervention as timely and impactful, noting that it would greatly enhance teaching and learning conditions within the school.

Addressing the gathering, APC Constituency Secretary, Strasser, assured stakeholders that the NLe 500,000 donation would be handled with full transparency. He explained that the funds would be used to upgrade the school’s infrastructure, including the purchase of desks and chairs, installation of whiteboards, construction of hygienic toilet facilities, and the renovation of the principal’s offices to meet modern standards.

Strasser applauded Jagaban for his compassion and people-centered leadership, stating that his actions reflect a genuine desire to uplift communities beyond political considerations.

In his statement, Jagaban expressed gratitude to the school administration, pupils, and parents for the warm reception accorded him. He emphasized that investing in education remains close to his heart.

“Sharing this moment with the children gives me joy and fulfillment. Education is the foundation of our future, and supporting institutions like this is part of who I am. This school will always be special to me,” he said.

The vote of thanks was delivered by Mrs. Isha Kargbo, Head Teacher for Classes 4–6, who described Jagaban as a symbol of selfless leadership and unity.

“You have shown that leadership is about service and love for humanity. Despite this being a Christian institution, you have demonstrated true religious tolerance and care. From today, you have the full support of this school community,” she remarked.

The programmed ended with expressions of gratitude from pupils, teachers, and parents, who voiced optimism for continued collaboration and support in the future
