Emma Kargbo’s story is one of determination, resilience, and the unyielding belief in the power of education. Despite becoming a mother at the tender age of 15, Emma has defied the odds and is now pursuing her dream of earning a degree while inspiring young women to chase their ambitions.

Emma Kargbo, a mother, wife, and grandmother, has lived a life marked by challenges and triumphs. She gave birth to her first daughter at just 15 years old and welcomed her second at 17. Despite the early responsibilities of motherhood, Emma never abandoned her passion for learning.

Years later, Emma enrolled in welding at Murialdo Technical School, excelling in the field. However, she soon realized that the physically demanding nature of the job, coupled with her duties as a mother of two, made it challenging to continue. Determined to find a new path, she turned to nursing, a career she found both rewarding and promising.

With a growing passion for healthcare, Emma decided to advance her career by pursuing formal education. She sat for the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE), achieved excellent results, and is now pursuing her degree at Ernest Bai Koroma University (EBK).

“I’ve always believed in education and empowerment,” Emma shared. “Women need to be educated and believe in themselves. In my class, I may be the oldest, but I know I’m among the most brilliant because of my experience and determination. I’m focused on earning my degree and fulfilling my dream.”

Emma’s inspiring message to young women is clear: seize every opportunity to educate yourself and pursue your dreams. “With determination and focus, success is achievable,” she emphasized.

Today, Emma Kargbo stands as a testament to the power of resilience and lifelong learning, proving that it’s never too late to achieve your dreams. Her journey continues to inspire women of all ages to prioritize education and believe in their potential.
