A tragic accident at the Rokupr Town wharf has claimed the lives of several people. At around 5:00 pm On the 8th day of January, 2026 Two individuals have been seen under the water through the help of the youths, the Vehicle registration number plate from Guinea  AV. 6065 after the incident but nobody was unable to identified the two corpse by the residents.

Police officers are calling on the people to come to the police station and identify the corpse without any delay.

Sources have also revealed that there are still other bodies in the water that have not yet been recovered.

Police officers from Kambia District and Rokupr Town have launched a joint investigation to determine the cause of the accident.

According to residents of Rokupr Town, this is not the first time such an accident has occurred in the town’s history, raising concerns about safety measures at the wharf.

However, Community people have raised serious concerns on the safety of the jenty and more have to be done by the government to protect the wharf.

Rokupr Town is one of the biggest towns in Kambia District were government is earning a lot of revenue collection through the District Council. Through sea and land transportation.
