NSA Boss to Delier Public Lecture on Sports law

The Executive Director of the National Sports Authority (NSA), Dr. Emmanuel Saffa Abdulai Esq., is set to deliver a public lecture at the University of Namibia on Sports Law, Governance, and Reforms in Africa on September 16, 2024.

The lecture will take into cognizance topical legal and governance matters that influence the decision-making process in the sports industry. The NSA Boss will shed light on critical aspects of the reforms that are underway to address public concerns on sports participation.

The event will mark Dr. Abdulai’s first international public lecture since assuming the NSA leadership.

The University of Namibia has described him as ‘a visionary leader spearheading the promotion, development, and coordination of sports across the  continent.’

“His conviction extends to the realm of sports as unifying force in the political landscape, serving as a potent tool for fostering national cohesion and bridging societal divides,” read a release from the Marketing, Logistics, and Sport Management Department, University of Namibia.

Two months ago, Dr. Saffa Abdulai co-opted ten law graduate volunteers to assist the NSA in drafting legal instruments that will see boom in sports law, attitudinal and behavioural reforms, and ethics in sports. This endeavour accounted for the birth of sport law in the concept of sports in Sierra Leone.

The National Sports Authority is an agency of Government established by an Act of Parliament with the mandate to promote, encourage, develop, and supervise all sports and sporting activities in Sierra Leone and to provide for other related matters.
