Opposition MP Advocates for Electricity in Falaba & waterloo

Honorable Mohamed Conteh of the All People’s Congress Party (APC) representing the people of Falaba District northern part of Sierra Leone has on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, called on the government to urgently improve electricity in his District and Waterloo, Western Rural District of Sierra Leone precisely ‘Devil Hole’, saying there is nothing to write home about in Falaba and the challenge of the mini-grid electrification in that part of the country.

His plea resonated with the community, highlighting the significance impact of reliable and efficient electricity in driving progress and enhancing the quality of life for residents.

According to him, unlike other western rural communities, Devil-Hole is envisaging an electricity problem while emphasizing the need government to consider his people and district. The law maker underscored the critical role that electricity plays in powering economic growth, facilitating education and healthcare, and fostering overall development. “By investing in infrastructure and technology, the government can not only meet the basic needs of the people of Falaba District but also create opportunities for innovation and entrepreneurship” he asserted

In Falaba District, access to electricity remains a challenge, the implementation of sustainable energy solutions can have a transformative impact. From powering homes and businesses to supporting critical infrastructure, a reliable electricity supply can unlock the full potential of the region’s residents and attract investments that stimulate local economies.

Similarly, in Devil Hole Waterloo Western Rural District, where electricity shortages are a common occurrence, improving energy infrastructure can have far-reaching consequences. By providing a stable and efficient electricity supply, the government can empower local communities, enable access to essential services, and create a conducive environment for economic growth and development.

The Hon’s plea for increased focus on electricity in the Falaba District and Devil Hole Waterloo Western, reflects a broader understanding of the transformative power of reliable energy. By prioritizing infrastructure improvements and investing in sustainable energy solutions, the government can not only meet the basic needs of the population but also lay the foundation for a brighter future filled with opportunities and prosperity.
