Joseph N. Boakai, the new President of Liberia who defeated outgone President George Weah has taken oath of office as the twenty-sixth President of the Republic of Liberia. Boakai has promised a new Liberia.
The 79-year-old calls for national unity. He also urges the three branches of government [legislature, executive and judiciary] to collaborate and work in the interest of the people of the oldest African country.
The event took place at the grounds of the Capitol Building. This is the second time such occasion is taking place there. The first was the innauguration of former President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf.
