The fact that young people have roles to play in society is an expression of the obvious. The world has seen emerging young and vibrant leaders and so it makes every sense to continue to empower such a future generation.

Every young person of any country plays a pivotal role in a democracy governance, the role of in governance is a key process of engaging all the young people of the country in building political stability, social unity, and economic prosperity of the country, that involves all the citizen in the process of development of the nation.

Young people’s enthusiasm and innovation can be an important driver for change, especially when channelled through participatory methods that combine their passion with the experience of older political players and decision-makers.

Including young people in efforts to increase voter turnout is essential. Many countries are currently experiencing declining voter turnout, which weakens the participatory aspect of democracy. The experiences of the 2023 elections in Sierra Leone reflect the importance of youth participation.

The young people occupy a very special role in a democracy governance, the future of any democracy depends on the proper moulding of the young people, any democracy governance that want to growth should pay a special attention to the young people. No revolution can be effective without the proper education, the future of any nation is dependent on the integration of the young people on the political and social activities.

Young people should possess immense potential to contribute to the development and progress in a democracy governance with their sophisticated understanding of digital literacy, social media proficiency, and technological know-how youth or young people can leverage modern tools and platforms to drive civic engagement, advocate for their rights and hold government accountable.

Moving forward young people are often at the forefront of social movements and grassroots activism, advocating for good governance in a democracy values, human rights and social justice. Their activism and mobilization efforts have the power to challenge the status quo and bring about positive societal change.

Government, civic society organizations, and other stakeholders must create inclusive spaces and mechanism that can facilitate young people participation in governance process.  This includes ensuring that young people have access to information, opportunities for meaningful, engagement and platforms to voice their opinions and concerns.
