Security Officials Intercept Drugs at Wanjama Police Checkpoint

Joint security forces deployed at Wanjama checkpoint has successfully apprehended a quantity of dry leaves suspected to be Cannabisativa concealed in a commercial vehicle with registration numbers AYE 808.

The driver of the vehicle, Sara Bah of no.5 Wilkinson Road, Freetown was intercepted following a thorough search by officers. During the operation, one Yankuba Kanneh from Nyanwama section, Daru Town, was also arrested in connection with the seized substance.

In a brief interview, sergeant Massaquoi, commanding officer of Wanjama checkpoint, highlighted several recent successes in apprehending drugs offenders and confiscating illicit substances. He emphasized that the check point has recorded numerous arrests of lawbreakers within the review period and assured that the team remains committed to maintaining excellence in service delivery. Both suspects and the confiscated substances have been transferred to the regional criminal investigation department, Kenema police station for further investigation. The investigation is ongoing and the public will be kept informed of any developments
