Sierra Leone’s Vice President, Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh has officially welcomed the Prime Minister of Senegal to Freetown on behalf of President Julius Maada Bio, marking the start of a two-day working visit between the two West African nations.

Speaking at an official dinner hosted in honour of the visiting dignitary, Dr. Jalloh emphasized the significance of the visit by His Excellency Ousmane Sonko, which aims to deepen bilateral cooperation and foster strategic engagement across sectors.

“On behalf of His Excellency, President Dr. Julius Maada Bio, we warmly welcome the Prime Minister of Senegal to Freetown,” he said, adding that the engagements are already underway.

In a light-hearted moment during the evening, the Vice President acknowledged the long wait for dinner and opted to keep his remarks brief.

“I know I’m a politician and I talk a lot, but tonight I’ll spare you that so we can enjoy our meal,” he joked, before proposing a toast to the enduring friendship between Sierra Leone and Senegal.

He hinted at a packed schedule for the following day, which would include high-level working sessions between President Bio, the Prime Minister, and key ministers.
