President Julius Maada Bio and his wife First Lady Fatima Bio have showered praises on Vice President Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh for his role for his leadership and role in securing the much-talked-about Four Hundred and Eighty Million United States Dollars (US$480m funding from the United States’ Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC).
It could be recalled that President Bio reposed confidence hugged confidence in his Vice President by putting him in charge to provide leadership and inspire all government institutions that fall under the MCC scorecards to pass the set indicators. Quite recently, the United States Congress approved the said Compact for Sierra Leone.
Reacting to the huge development for the country, President Bio said he personally urged his Vice President to pursue the MCC funds tirelessly.
“Despite the challenges, I encouraged him to do everything within his power to ensure that Sierra Leone secured this vital funding,” the President stated, adding that VP Jalloh’s successful negotiation of that huge support from the US Government demonstrated his capability and commitment towards Sierra Leone’s development.
First Lady Fatima Bio also praised Vice President Jalloh, describing him as ‘a visionary leader’.
“Let me take this opportunity to salute Dr. Mohammed Juldeh Jalloh, the Vice President of the Republic of Sierra Leone and the nation’s MCC chairperson. Your leadership has made the difference we needed to see our nation achieve the MCC.
You people took the instructions of your Boss HE Julius Maada Bio President of the Republic of Sierra Leone seriously by making sure Sierra Leone win at the end of the day. Dr Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh I celebrate your visionary leadership, leading with no noise and deliver with a BANG. Thank you Sir we are grateful,” Madam Bio wrote on Facebook.
The First Lady also expressed her thanks to Mrs Ndeh Koroma, the Coordinator of Sierra Leone Compact Development Unit; Fantamady Bangura, Minister of Finance; and Mathew Dingy, Financial Secretary at the Ministry of Finance.
Similar compliments have been pouring from other key government officials, praising the leadership of Vice President Juldeh Jalloh throughout the process.
