Mr. Qionglin Chen, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of YouBest Biotechnology, together with Dr Ibrahim Seaga Shaw, YouBest’s Representative for West Africa, held a strategic meeting on Friday 24th July with H.E. Ambassador Alhaji Dr Mohamed Sarjoh Bah, African Union Permanent Representative to China, to discuss opportunities for strengthening China–Africa cooperation in healthcare innovation and advancing Sierra Leone’s role as a regional healthcare technology hub in West Africa.
During the meeting, Mr. Chen introduced YouBest Biotechnology’s vision of leveraging innovation in vitro diagnostic (IVD) technologies to support Africa’s healthcare transformation. He presented the company’s commitment to developing advanced, accessible, and reliable diagnostic solutions that can strengthen early disease detection, improve healthcare efficiency, and support the development of sustainable healthcare systems across African countries.

Dr. Shaw, who was visiting China during the final week of his annual leave, further explained that YouBest’s vision in Sierra Leone extends beyond product introduction. “The company aims to establish a comprehensive healthcare innovation ecosystem through technology transfer, clinical cooperation, professional training, local partnerships, and regional market development. By leveraging Sierra Leone as a strategic hub, innovative healthcare solutions can be scaled to neighbouring West African countries and contribute to improving public health outcomes across the continent”, Dr Shaw emphasised.
H.E. Ambassador Alhaji Dr Mohamed Sarjoh Bah, African Union Permanent Representative to China, welcomed YouBest’s commitment to supporting Africa’s healthcare development and recognized the importance of strengthening cooperation between Chinese technology companies and African nations.
