A Twenty-year-old (20yrs) Karim Famar, school pupil of Panguma Town has been committed to stand trial at the High Court in Kenema by His Worship, Magistrate Hadiru Daboh of Magistrate Court No.1 in Kenema for House Breaking and Larceny.
A Defendant, Karim Famar was arraigned in court on one count charge of House Breaking and Larceny Contrary to Section 26 subsection 1 of the Larceny Act 1916.
The charge was read by Moses Ganawa the Registrar of the court in Kenema. Mr. Ganawa informed the court that on July 29, 2026 at Tokabu Section, Panguma Town, Lower Bambara Chiefdom in Kenema Judicial District in the Eastern province of Sierra Leone, broke and entered a dwelling house and stole one Samsung Mobil phone valued at One Thousand,Two Hundred New Leones( NLe 1,200). No plea was taken and no bail was granted to the Defendant. He was Committed to High Court in Kenema for Trial.
In his ruling, Magistrate Hadiru Daboh having gone through the evidences in court and having regards that the Prosecution has discharged its task in its entirety, the Magistrate was left with no options but to commit the Defendant to High Court in Kenema for Trial. Karim Famar was remanded in custody at the Sierra Leone Correctional Centre ( SLCC) in Kenema.
The matter was prosecuted by Woman Police Sergeant, Bakarr Watta attached to the Legal and Justice Support Department in the Kenema Police Division.
