E.U. lauds A.U. for historic continental free trade pact, pledges support

The Honorable Paramount Chief and Member of Parliament, Bai Farma Bubu N’gbak IV, with the support of the Honorable Minister of Finance, Sheku Fantamadi Bangura, has donated 25 million Old Leone to support the rehabilitation of Radio Khaliza FM 89.2.

The financial contribution is intended to facilitate the purchase of furniture and other essential materials required to restore the community radio station to full operation after a prolonged period off the air.

The funds were officially handed over by the Paramount Chief and Member of Parliament to Abdulraman Shaid Bangura (Orlando) and Ibrahim Sorie Kamara (IB Sorie). During the presentation, the Paramount Chief stressed the importance of transparency and accountability in the use of the funds, reaffirming his commitment to the success of Radio Khalisa 89.2 FM, which he described as his “baby.”

Speaking on behalf of the recipients, Abdulraman Shaid Bangura assured the donors that the money would be used strictly for its intended purpose. He expressed appreciation for the generous support, noting that the donation would significantly contribute to restoring the station’s operations and enhancing access to information for the people of Rokupr and surrounding communities.

The management and staff of Radio Khalisa 89.2 FM, together with members of the Rokupr community, conveyed their heartfelt gratitude to the Paramount Chief and the Minister of Finance for their timely intervention and continued support.

With rehabilitation efforts now underway, Radio Khalisa FM 89.2 is expected to resume broadcasting soon, once again providing news, educational programs, and entertainment to listeners across the community.
