Miniser Of Transport Unveils New

The newly constructed Masjid in Segbwema Kailahun District, was officially inaugurated by the Minister of Transport, Amb. Alhaji Fanday Turay Esq., in a ceremony that marked a significant milestone for the community. The event, attended by local leaders, residents, and dignitaries, was a testament to the region’s collective effort towards spiritual and community development.

Speaking at the ceremony, Minister Turay praised the collaboration that led to the completion of the Masjid, emphasizing that it was in line with President Julius Maada Bio’s vision of promoting community development across Sierra Leone. “This project represents more than just a building; it is a symbol of unity, faith, and progress for the people of Segbwema,” Turay said.

Ing. Lahai Senesie, the project’s lead engineer, highlighted the spiritual importance of the Masjid, underscoring its role as a center for worship, reflection, and community gathering. Sheikh Bah, a local religious leader, also spoke at the event, noting that the Masjid would serve as a beacon for spiritual growth and guidance for the people of Segbwema and beyond.

Hon. Wuyata Songa, a representative of the region, took the opportunity to urge the people of Segbwema to come together in unity, stressing that such communal projects can strengthen ties and promote peace within the district. Local women’s representative, Jakar Turay, echoed these sentiments, emphasizing the Masjid’s importance to the Kono Town community, which would benefit from the new facility both spiritually and socially.

The completion of the Masjid is seen as a significant achievement for the Kailahun District; with residents hopeful that it will foster unity, enhance community engagement, and contribute to the spiritual well-being of the region. As the Masjid opens its doors, it stands not only as a place of worship but as a powerful symbol of collaboration and shared vision for the future.
