The Electricity Distribution and Supply Authority (EDSA) has provided a new transformer for the Lungi community, drawing widespread appreciation from residents and stakeholders.

This intervention comes at a critical time when the community faces significant challenges in both electricity and water supply. The Sierra Leone Water Company (SALWACO), which had been actively pursuing the installation of the transformer to enhance its water supply operations, expressed enthusiasm over the development. According to SALWACO, this new infrastructure will greatly benefit the community and help stabilize essential services.

With the improved electricity supply, SALWACO aims to enhance water distribution, ensuring that residents have access to affordable and reliable water services. The leadership of SALWACO, comprising the Board of Directors, Managing Director, Deputy Managing Director, and senior management, has been consistently engaging EDSA to address the transformer issue.

This long-awaited outcome is being celebrated as a positive step toward improving living conditions in Lungi. SALWACO’s management emphasized the importance of cooperation from the public, encouraging everyone to embrace the changes for the benefit of all.

“This is a win not only for SALWACO but also for the people and the country as a whole. We remain committed to making judicious use of this opportunity to provide uninterrupted water supply at reasonable rates,” a senior SALWACO official remarked.
