H.P.P.P vs SLPP

A new political party to be called the Harmony People’s Party (H.P.P) is being formed with the sole aim of defeating the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) at the 2028 elections. The party is to be constituted mainly by failed stalwarts of the SLPP and APC who feel that they have been side-lined by their parties after years of faithful service. Their motto is: “If at first you don’t succeed try, try, try again.”

They intend to make history in view of the fact that SLPP and APC have been taking turns in ruling the country since independence in 1961. All attempts by other political parties to dislodge them from power have proved fruitless. It will be recalled that valiant politicians like the late Dr. John Karefa Smart and Mr. Thaimu Bangura came close to upturning that hegemony in vain. They recall that Sierra Leone does not deserve its present economic status judging by its potentials in mineral and natural resources. They deem themselves as the real fixers of the economy and not Dr. Samura Kamara.

The party is purportedly to be led by former Vice-President Chief Sam Sumana who will stop being a rolling stone by his new endeavor. He is expected to bring his wealth of experience to the table. His experience as the former leader of the C4C and his failed attempts to lead the APC will also be valuable.

Charles Francis Margai, Sierra Leone’s most experienced lawyer and leader of the People’s Movement for Democratic Change (PMDC) is reported to have been considering taking the post of Deputy Leader. As an expert in party alignment, he is expected to use his vast experience to seduce staunch members of the SLPP and APC to join the H.P.P thus deflating them with no chance of victory.

They plan to rule for the next 40 years and this news has already sent cold slivers down the spines of SLPP and APC.
