Sierra Leone’s Chief Minister, David Moinina Sengeh, PhD has officially launched and unveiled the Vult platform, which among other things has been described as a revolution in financial inclusion and a digital payment establishment. The launch which was held on Friday June 28th at Wilkinson Road in Freetown attracted several state and non-state actors, much to the admiration of all and sundry.

In his welcome statement, Group Chairman and Chief Executive of Vult, Davar Fazaeli said that the platform seeks to enhance inclusion with a vision to ensure that everyone is able to manage, spend and share at one’s convenience. He said that the platform would also be a valuable tool for entrepreneurs and that it could also facilitate empowerment at all levels.

Chairman, Parliamentary Oversight Committee on Communication, Technology and Innovation, Hon. Boston Munda said that the groundbreaking project deserves commendation and that it will minimize the limited access to financial services which he said had been the norm over the years. He said that with the platform’s digital wallet experience drive, online payment will now be a smooth ride, with little or no hurdles.

Minister of Communication, Technology and Innovation, Salima Bah stated that the innovation solution urge of the platform marks a remarkable and an exciting day in Sierra Leone, noting that the country is at a position of building critical infrastructure which will enhance sustainable development. She said that the launch has opened up safer and better spaces for Sierra Leone to join the global financial village.

Delivering the keynote and launching the platform, Chief Minister, David Sengeh remarked that he was proud and considered the moment profound in a move towards positively matching technological determinism. He noted that digital payment systems have unique impacts, adding that it is apt for Sierra Leone to make use of the opportunity. He said that the launch is a support to financial technology and that all efforts are to be made to protect and safeguard the platform.

The Vult unveiling, championed by Metro Cable SL Ltd, is a digital payment technological innovation in Sierra Leone which is designed to empower users with a secured and convenient platform for online transactions, money, transfers, bills payment and many more.

Vult of is part of the Bank of Sierra Leone’s Sandbox program which ensures compliance with the Central Bank’s regulations and policies. The guides have a thrust of ensuring the safety and protection of customers.

The launch was hosted by Journalist/Media Personality, Stella Bangura, formally of AYV Television and host of ‘On the Spot with Stella’ TV talk show.
