All People’s Congress (APC) Party marked a major milestone in its efforts to expand political infrastructure with a sod-turning ceremony in Bo City, signaling the start of construction for its long-anticipated Southern Region headquarters.
On Sunday, May 4, 2025, the high-profile event drew several senior party officials and stakeholders, including Deputy National Chairman Alhaji Osman Foday Yansaneh, National Secretary-General Lansana Dumbuya Esq., Regional Chairperson Haja Isatu Bah Kamara, members of the Southern Region executive, national executive members, and many other APC loyalists and supporters from across the region.
The ceremony underscored the APC’s commitment to strengthening its presence and enhancing organizational capacity in the Southern Region an area historically seen as a stronghold of rival political parties, once completed, the regional office will serve not only as a center for political coordination and strategic planning but also as a powerful symbol of party unity, continuity, and resilience across Sierra Leone.
The construction of the headquarters comes in the wake of a successful fundraising drive in November 2024, where over two billion Leones were raised to support the project. The party has also secured an eight-acre parcel of land in Bo, generously donated by a senior APC member, laying the foundation for what is expected to be a flagship office in the region.
The establishment of this office is more than a building it is a declaration of our intent to connect, to organize, and to serve the people of the South with renewed vigor, said Alhaji Osman Foday Yansaneh at the event.
The initiative is widely seen as a strategic move by the APC to consolidate its influence in southern Sierra Leone and provide a stable base from which to engage grassroots supporters, strengthen political structures, and prepare for future elections.
This latest development reflects the APC’s broader vision of deepening its reach across all regions of Sierra Leone, promoting inclusive political dialogue, and fostering national development.
