In a jam-packed hall in Moyamba Town on May 26, 2025, the Ministry of Information and Civic Education convened a town hall meeting that brought together local stakeholders and school pupils to engage in a dialogue on Sierra Leone’s history and governance, welcoming the guests, Paramount Chief John Jibao Russell Nyaama expressed his appreciation for the initiative, stating, I am very satisfied to be part of this historic event taking place in my district, and I heartily welcome you all.”
The event aimed to educate citizens, especially young people about the role of governance and to highlight government projects and initiatives that many may not be aware of, after the traditional pouring of libation by paramount chiefs, resident minister south, John Abu, addressed the gathering, governance is about delivering for the people of all tribes and regions not about pettiness or division.”
Crowning the event was a keynote address by minister of information and civic education, Chernor Bah, whose nationwide civic engagement initiative aims to bring governance closer to the people, President Bio has done many things that not everyone is aware of, which is why we are here to inform and engage the public, he said, the event also featured a lively quiz competition among school pupils, testing their knowledge of Sierra Leone’s history, constitution, and national development efforts.
