President Julius Maada Bio has appointed Madam Isata Jabbie Kabba, the former First Lady of the Republic of Sierra Leone and the wife of the late President Ahmed Tejan Kabbah, as Presidential Adviser on Gender. Her appointment came after the publication of a press release from the office of the president.

According to the press release, “The terms and conditions of service in respect of your appointment will be communicated to you in due course,’’ it stated.

This appointment was successful due to her dedicated and diligent service to the nation as first lady of the Republic of Sierra Leone and also the remarkable and landmark achievement in her tenure as First Lady of this country and as a result of that made president Bio to appointment her as presidential adviser on gender. The other aspect again that aided to that appointment is as a result of her late husband leadership performance as president of Sierra Leone all put together culminated to that appointment.

The press release furthered to congratulate her on her appointment and wish her success in that assignment, and that appointment is expected to take effect from the date she reports for duty.

The press release continued to ask her to put in writing her acceptance of offer to authenticate her acceptance.

In another development, President Bio has also made a significant announcement regarding the appointment of Mr. Desmond Pessima as the new Presidential Adviser on Youth. In an official letter addressed to Mr. Desmond Pessima, President Bio expressed his contentment with appointing him to this vital role. The letter read:

“I am pleased to inform you that His Excellency the President, Brig. (Rtd.) Julius Maada Bio, has chosen to appoint you as the Presidential Adviser on Youth, Office of the President.”

This decision follows weeks of meticulous deliberation and consultations with high-ranking advisors. The specific Terms and Conditions of Service pertaining to this appointment will be communicated to Mr. Desmond Pessima at a later date. President Bio extended his heartfelt congratulations and conveyed his utmost best wishes for Mr. Pessima’s success in his new capacity.

Mr. Desmond Pessima will officially assume his role upon reporting for duty.
