Alhaji Juldeh Sow, Popular Businessman and philanthropist
Mrs. Fatmata Binta Bah is an amazing and inspiring woman who has mentored and continue to mentor and support many people. She is the Board Secretary of Audit Service Sierra Leone, the public auditing agency of the country. She is regarded by many as a strong woman with topnotch integrity, resilience, professionalism and kindness.
Speaking to Expo Times, she expressed profound gratitude to have been chosen recently by the respected Alhaji Juldeh Sow to be his sister. Alhaji Juldeh Sow is a very prominent, respectful and influential businessman in and out of the Fullah community in Sierra Leone and other jurisdictions. He happens to be the only child to his mother and doesn’t have a sister from the same mother and had always wanted one. Such official sibling recognition has traditional significance, especially in this case where the person doing the recognition and the one being recognized are of esteemed status in society.
The recognition ceremony took place on Saturday, 11th May, 2024, at the Freetown City Council hall.
Alhaji Juldeh Sow is said to have received many requests from different individuals and organizations in society to serve as a brotherly or fatherly figure to them and their organization or institution. Mrs. Bah said she is therefore very grateful for honoring her with such recognition.
She added that it was very difficult to see an independent Fullah woman, saying they are always considered to be at the back, a narrative Madam Bah and other Fullah women are changing. She emphasized that she is privileged for a man of such caliber to choose her as a sister.
She explained how the recognition came about, saying she is part of a family organization called Bhantal Sonnabeh Musidal, a social entity rich in culture and tradition. The said organization consists of women from Timbi, a district in neighbouring Guinea.
She noted that the women of the family organization decided to choose Alhaji Juldeh Sow to serve as a father figure. They paid him a visit and made their request known, a request the father figure Alhaji Sow gladly accepted. According to Madam Bah, it is from that development her recognition came about.
Madam Bah said such recognition has impacted her life so much, but has preferred to keep it low.
Alhaji Juldeh Sow is a renowned businessman and a trade envoy that renders opportunities to people like scholarship schemes, among others.
Mrs. Fatmata Binta Bah prayed for their union as siblings to be a productive; one that brings unity and respect. She looks forward to a cordial, respectful and happy relationship built on faith and trust between her and Alhaji Juldeh Sow and intends to do lot in common as a brother and sister would share.
As the prominent woman that she is in society, she encouraged young people to have faith in the Almighty and empower themselves, while encouraging parents to educate their children, especially their daughters, saying education is a key to unlock potentials and opportunities.
