In a dramatic turn of events, a recent thunderstorm occurred in the Morfindugu Chiefdom, Falaba District, North of the country, leaving twenty-eight cattle dead.
According to a Press Release issued by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security through the Livestock and Veterinary Services Division, the said cattle were under secure custody for breaching international importation procedures.
“The District Agriculture team is working with other district counterparts to ensure appropriate actions are taken, such as the protection of the remaining cattle, raising awareness to discourage people from buying meat from unusual sources, and collecting samples for further lab testing and investigation,” excerpts of the press release states, adding that, “We call upon residents in the Falaba District not to consume or sell any meat from the thunderstorm incident site under any circumstances.”
Meanwhile, the latest unfortunate thunderstorm incident has set tongues wagging.
