Sierra Leone’s Ministry of Communications, Technology, and Innovation has informed that the 2024 Sierra Leone Innovates; Tech and Innovation Summit which is scheduled to take place from June 11th to 13th 2024, at the Freetown International Conference Center – Bintumani would be a highly anticipated event which aims to be a catalyst for technological advancement and economic growth in Sierra Leone.
The Summit will bring together a diverse group of participants, including innovators, startups, thought leaders, government policymakers, private sector stakeholders, development partners, industry experts, and investors. This convergence of minds and ideas is intended to foster collaboration and spur innovative solutions to some of Sierra Leone’s most pressing challenges. Assembling such a wide array of stakeholders, the Summit aims to create a vibrant ecosystem where ideas can flourish, resources are accessible, and regulatory frameworks support innovation.
Central to the Summit’s mission are several key objectives: building a conducive ecosystem for innovation, promoting youth empowerment, fostering innovation entrepreneurship, accelerating digital transformation, and enhancing societal growth and economic development. High-level plenary discussions will provide insights into the latest trends and challenges in the tech and innovation sectors, while tech expos and innovation showcases will highlight groundbreaking products and services. Pitch competitions will offer startups a unique platform to present their ideas to potential investors, and policy roundtables will facilitate crucial dialogue between public and private sector stakeholders. Additionally, private sector sessions and ample networking opportunities will foster collaboration and the sharing of best practices.
