APC Will Continue to Hold SLPP Accountable

The leader of opposition in Parliament Hon. Abdul Kargbo has said that his serves as an alternative voice, and savior to citizens in the country and that his party will continue to hold government accountable. “The APC members of Parliament will always unite with senior members of our party to question and caution the government of SLPP on everything so far”, he said.

He said that the inflation rate in the country is higher than the inflation rate to neighboring countries (Guinea and Liberia), he said the dollar rate in April 2018 was about 760, 000 old leones and it is about ,260NLe as per the Bank of Sierra Leone while it is different in the black market, stressing as opposition they will hold government accountable and his part will experts on diverse fields to help government address on some of the pressing issues

According to him, electricity is nothing good to talk about under the Bio led-government, Saying the national power outage and cost of tariff is rocketing especially those using the prepaid meters.  “When the SLPP government came to governance, they negotiated with the Karpowership for cost reduction, APC was paying 1 kilo watt per hour for Nineteen cent. When the SLPP came to ruling, they condemned the nineteen cent with the aim of negotiating to reduce the amount the All People’s Congress was paying “, the leader asserted, adding the SLPP government increased the tariff from 560,000 old Leones to 1,400 old Leones something he said over two hundred percent  (200%) increment

He furthered that, the ruling party is extorting from citizens something he described to be unfair and unjust, pointing if charges for electricity are high, then those in charge should ensure the availability of electricity in the country respectively.

Honorable Abdul Kargbo suggested  that the government should think of not going back while recalling the contribution of ‘Adaks’ a Company that used to supply electricity terming it a  local electricity company that has been helping with electricity supply in Freetown back then under the leadership of Earnest Bai Koroma.
