Sierra Leone’s peace Ambassador Alhaji Amadu Bah (LAJ) has been released after spending five days in police custody in Kenema. The rapper was detained on Sunday, May 5, 2024 on allegations ranging from assault, robbery among other offences which he earlier denied.
According to sources, the former National Revenue Authority (NRA) Commissioner General, Chief Ibrahim Brima Swaray, the former President of Sierra Leone All Stars, Base Aphonyx, along with DJ Snow were among prominent actors that played pivotal roles in settling the matter.
Inspector Prince Jagboi Kamara, Police Media in Kenema said that the matter was resolved amicably out of court. He confirmed that the famous rapper had left the eastern region premises. “The matter has been resolved and they have left for Freetown,” inspector Kamara confirmed to Expo.
Thomas Baio, Kenema City Mayor said that the matter has been resolved and there is no report of injury. “A high delegation came from Freetown and the matter has been solved.” He however refused to speak on the allegations he had earlier levelled against the rapper, as reported by the police is a statement.
There were mixed reactions especially on social media when the matter between LA and the Mayor of Kenema started to make the headlines. One fan of LAJ said that he was happy that ‘the matter had finally been settled and that LA is now free.’’
