President Bio and Dr. Samura Kamara in warm hug

Peace is an essential ingredient for any nation to strive, and political unrest is a recipe for disaster. Now that the elections saga is over, some people are elated for the development, others are not. Now that the opposition has gone to Parliament, all Sierra Leoneans must embrace the peace for the growth of the nation.

There is a popular saying that no matter where you go, there is no place like home. No matter where you maybe in the world, there is no place like home. The peace of our nation rests on us all. We must jealously safeguard the peace of Mama Salone.

Johan Galtung says peace cannot be achieved through violence; it can only be attained through understanding. Our differences are enormous, but when we learn to lay them aside and work together, our nation will strive.

We only have one Sierra Leone When we start seeing each other through the lens that we are all Sierra Leoneans, regardless of our tribes and regional differences our nation will strive.

A single stuck of broom is impossible to sweep, but when they are puttogether, they can. There is power in unity and togetherness, if only we can be united our nation will strive.

Henry Kissinger stated that, peace depends not on political arrangements, but on the conscience on mankind. The terms of peace maybe negotiated by political leaders, but the fate of peace is up to each of us.

Let us see our nation as a baby who needs people to care for it. The growth of our nation rests on us, we must come together and create a brighter future for Mama Salone.

To our heads, please lead well to maintain the peace, the body only follow where the head is taking it. Let us all work earnestly to ensure peace prevails at all time.

Whether you are from the North, South, East or West, or regardless of your tribe, when you step out of the shores of this country, you will not be identified by your tribe or region, but as a Sierra Leonean.

Let peace prevail, and our nation will strive.
