The Sierra Leone Police (SLP) in Kenema Division has intensified visibility patrols across the city as part of efforts to prevent crime, enhance public confidence, and maintain peace and security.

The exercise, which involves both foot and vehicular patrols, covers major streets, public areas, and other strategic locations within Kenema.      Police officials say the move is aimed at deterring criminal activities while ensuring a safer environment for residents, businesses, and visitors.

Speaking on the importance of the operation, Local Unit Commander (LUC) of Kenema Police Division, Chief Superintendent Emmanuel Kpulun, encouraged officers involved in the patrols to uphold professionalism, discipline, and respect in their engagements with members of the public.

He stressed the need for officers to remain vigilant and conduct their duties in a manner that strengthens trust and cooperation between the Police and the communities they serve.

Residents have welcomed the increased police presence, describing the patrols as a positive step towards improving security and promoting peace in the city.

Regional Police Commander East, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Joe Kamanda Bongay, commended officers for the successful execution of the exercise.

He urged them to sustain proactive policing strategies and continue working closely with communities to address security concerns.

ACP Bongay also called on residents to support security efforts by remaining alert and promptly reporting suspicious activities to the relevant authorities.

The Sierra Leone Police maintains that community partnership and proactive policing are essential in preventing crime and ensuring the continued safety of Kenema residents. The Division has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening public safety through increased engagement, visibility, and collaboration with the community.
