Bo District Council Chair Makes Way for Six- Classroom Block ConstructionBy Dadson A. Musa

In a significant step towards strengthening education infrastructure in Bo District, the Chairman of the Bo District Council, Victor Korseh Hindowa, has officially commissioned the commencement of the construction and expansion of an ultramodern six-classroom school building for SLMB Primary School in Yeima Village, Bongor Chiefdom.

The project, which forms part of the Council’s commitment to improving access to quality education, has been awarded to HIMU CONSTRUCTION AND GENERAL SUPPLIES LIMITED. Construction is expected to commence immediately and be completed within the next three months, ahead of the reopening of schools for the September 2026 academic year.

Addressing community members and stakeholders during the commissioning ceremony on Wednesday, 15th July 2026, Chairman Hindowa reaffirmed the Bo District Council’s determination to invest in educational infrastructure that will provide a safe, modern, and conducive learning environment for pupils across the district. And it is a milestone achievement because Bongor has been a deprived community.

The ceremony attracted senior government officials, traditional authorities, councillors, and education stakeholders, including the Chief Administrator, Madam Vivan Sallay Senesie; Deputy Director of Education, Mr. Philip Ngebeh; the Regent Chief of Bongor Chiefdom; the Town Chief of Yeima Village; Chiefdom Councillor Kabba; Education Committee Chairman, Councillor Amara Manyan, Councillor Kpage, the Civil Engineer of the Bo District Council, Engineer Penyekie,  the District Planning Officer (DPO); the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Officer; the Gender Officer; the Head Teacher of SLMB Primary School; members of staff; pupils; and hundreds of community residents.

Speaking during the commissioning, chairman Korseh Hindowa said that ” the people of Bongor chiefdom must not miss out in this free quality education of president Bio and i will conti ue to help for as long as i am chairman,” he concluded. Stakeholders welcomed the project as a “timely intervention” that will significantly improve teaching and learning conditions in Yeima and surrounding communities. They also expressed confidence in HIMU CONSTRUCTION AND GENERAL SUPPLIES LIMITED to deliver the project within the stipulated timeframe.

The commissioning marks yet another milestone in the Bo District Council’s development agenda under the leadership of Chairman Victor Korseh Hindowa, whose administration continues to prioritize investments in education, infrastructure, and community development across the district.
