The Presiding Magistrate in Kenema, His Worship, Magistrate Hadiru Daboh of Magistrate Court No.1 in Kenema has on April 29, 2026, Sentenced one twenty-eight years(28yrs) old Joseph Ngagbai alias Sahr. J. a bike rider dwelling at Bandama to twenty-four (24) months imprisonment for Larceny.
The charges were read to him by Brima Tomboyeke the Registrar of the court. He told the court that the Defendant alias Sahr. J. on March 15, 2026, along Blama Road in Kenema, stole one Blue Star HLX Motorcycle with Registration Numbers ADD 635 valued at Twenty-Five Thousand New Leones (NLe 25,000/00), Property of Aziz Lansana. He was standing trial in court on the offence of Larceny Contrary to Section 20 of the Larceny Act 1916. A Defendant, Joseph pleaded guilty and begged for mercy. He was sentenced to 24 months imprisonment at the Sierra Leone Correctional Centre (SLCC) in Kenema or pay the sum of money claimed in the file.
In another news, Musa Hakawa arrainged before Magistrate Daboh for false pretences Contrary to Section 32 Subsection 1 of the Larceny Act 1916. The Defendant on April 18, 2026 at capitol, Hangha Road in Kenema with intent to defraud, obtain the Sum of One Thousand, Eight Hundred New Leones (NLe 1,800/00) from Abdulai Jalloh by falsely pretending that you have one black sheep for sale knowing same to be false. He pleaded guilty and asked for forgiveness. He was sentenced to Three (3) months imprisonment at the Sierra Leone Correctional Centre (SLCC) in Kenema or pay the sum claimed in the file. Both matters were prosecuted by Police Inspector, Alphan Samuel Musa and woman police sergeant, Bakarr Watta attached to the Legal and Justice Support Department in the Kenema Division.
