
The Ministry of Water Resources and Sanitation, in collaboration with key stakeholders across the water sector, is currently reviewing the Sierra Leone Water Company (SALWACO) Act of 2017.
As part of this process, a Technical Working Group has been established with clear Terms of Reference to guide the review and proposed amendments to the Act. The Group comprises representatives nominated from relevant institutions within the sector.
Members include Abu Bakarr Iscandri Conteh of the National Water Resources Management Agency (NWRMA); Ing. Abdul Ben Lebbie, Chief Utility Director, SALWACO; Mayiwa Sia Macauley Esq., Company Secretary, SALWACO; Joe Ansu Foray Esq., Director of Human Resources, SALWACO; John Victor Carl Neel-Kamara Esq., Commercial Manager, SALWACO; Desireemarg Black-Augustine, Head of Legal Compliance at the Sierra Leone Water and Electricity Regulatory Commission (SLEWRC); Patrick Musa, National WASH Coordinator at the Ministry of Basic and Senior Secondary Education; Alie Kabba, Director of Corporate Services at Guma Valley Water Company; Lamrana F. Koroma, Assistant Director of Family Welfare at the Ministry of Social Welfare; Saifula Bah and Alieu Bakarr Conteh from the Ministry of Social Welfare; Augustine Tucker, Director of Water Resources and Sanitation; and the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Water Resources and Sanitation, among others.
The Technical Working Group is tasked with reviewing the SALWACO Act, 2017, to ensure it reflects current sector realities and strengthens service delivery across the country.
