Infrastructure development continues to serve as a cornerstone of Sierra Leone’s national transformation, with renewed momentum under the leadership of Engineer Alfred Jalil Momodu. As Director General of the Sierra Leone Roads Authority (SLRA), he is playing a central role in implementing the government’s ambitious road development agenda.
The SLRA, mandated to oversee the construction, rehabilitation, and maintenance of the country’s road network, has intensified efforts to expand and modernize transport infrastructure. Under Engineer Momodu’s stewardship, the Authority has prioritized efficiency, quality assurance, and strategic alignment with national development goals.
Working within the broader policy direction of President Julius Maada Bio, infrastructure development has become a key pillar of governance. Road construction and rehabilitation projects are being executed to improve connectivity between urban and rural communities, enhance trade routes, and support economic diversification.
Improved road networks are facilitating the smoother movement of goods and services, reducing travel time, and lowering transportation costs for businesses and citizens alike. This expansion of transport corridors is contributing to economic productivity and strengthening regional integration within Sierra Leone and across neighboring states.
Beyond economic impact, improved infrastructure is transforming social access. Communities that once struggled with isolation are now gaining better connections to markets, educational institutions, and healthcare facilities. These developments are enhancing service delivery and improving quality of life, particularly in previously underserved areas.
Engineer Momodu’s leadership approach emphasizes transparency, accountability, and close monitoring of projects to ensure compliance with technical standards. Through systematic oversight and performance tracking, the SLRA is reinforcing public trust and demonstrating institutional discipline in the management of public resources.
Each completed road project represents more than physical construction—it symbolizes progress, resilience, and shared national growth. By ensuring that infrastructure expansion reaches multiple regions, the SLRA is contributing to inclusive development rather than concentrated urban advancement.
As Sierra Leone continues its development trajectory, the collaboration between political leadership and technical execution remains critical. Under Engineer Alfred Jalil Momodu’s direction, the Sierra Leone Roads Authority is translating national infrastructure policy into tangible results, reinforcing the country’s commitment to sustainable growth and long-term economic stability.
