According to police sources, officers on duty stopped a vehicle bearing a TVR registration number for a standard security search. During the inspection, the suspected drugs were discovered concealed inside the vehicle.

The driver, identified as Foday Alie Conteh, a resident of No. 1 Lungi Road, Port Loko, was immediately arrested in connection with the seizure.

Police confirmed that the suspect is currently in custody and is assisting with ongoing investigations, as authorities work to determine the origin, intended destination, and possible network linked to the suspected drugs.

The seizure forms part of intensified nationwide security operations aimed at curbing drug trafficking and other transnational crimes across Sierra Leone, law enforcement agencies have reiterated their commitment to strengthening checkpoint surveillance and intelligence-led operations to protect communities from the dangers associated with illegal drugs.
