
Vice President of the Republic of Sierra Leone, Dr Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh, on Friday, 23 January 2026, warmly received the German Federal Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development, Reem Alabali Radovan, and her delegation at the Office of the Vice President, in a meeting marked by mutual respect and a shared concern for the wellbeing of ordinary Sierra Leoneans.
Speaking on behalf of the President, the Government, and the people of Sierra Leone, the Vice President welcomed the high-level delegation and expressed appreciation for their decision to visit communities and see development projects firsthand, describing the gesture as a sign of genuine partnership beyond formal diplomacy.
Reflecting on the long-standing relationship between Sierra Leone and Germany, VP Juldeh Jalloh recalled the establishment of diplomatic ties and Germany’s continued support during difficult moments, including the post-conflict and recovery periods.
He noted that Germany’s commitment to rehabilitation, infrastructure, and development cooperation had helped strengthen bilateral relations over the years, making the partnership both active and impactful.
According to him, the courtesy call reaffirmed Germany’s commitment to walking alongside Sierra Leone as it continued to plan and implement key development initiatives.
Focusing on the human impact of the cooperation, the Vice President highlighted progress in education, women’s empowerment, and healthcare, areas he described as central to improving everyday life for citizens.
He pointed to increased investment in social sectors, reduced maternal mortality, expanded to quality healthcare, and services reaching communities through mobile health initiatives.
