ABC Development and ActionAid Sierra Leone have joined forces to support community development efforts in Masongbalan Chiefdom, with a specific focus on enhancing education in Rokanu and Masemrah villages. Their joint initiative aims to improve the learning environment by providing essential school supplies to underserved schools

ABC Development, a leading organization based in Kambia District, has long championed education by supporting schoolchildren with critical learning tools. In this latest project, the two organizations are distributing desks and benches to local schools, responding directly to the urgent need for proper classroom furniture.

These supplies are not just functional items; they are foundational to creating a more conducive learning environment for pupils. By addressing this basic yet essential need, the project seeks to improve both the quality of education and student participation in these rural communities.

Speaking to the media, Mr. Mohamed Kamara, Director of ABC Development, expressed appreciation for ActionAid’s continued partnership and support. He noted that the benches and desks were produced locally by a skilled carpenter within the community. This approach not only ensured that schools received the much-needed furniture but also empowered local craftsmen and built community ownership of the initiative. Mr. Kamara added that using local resources also means schools will be better equipped to maintain and repair their furniture in the long run.

This collaborative effort between ABC Development and ActionAid demonstrates the power of partnership in addressing community challenges. By working together, these organizations are delivering sustainable solutions and making a lasting difference in the lives of children in Masongbalan Chiefdom.
