Kingtom Police Hospital and Premium Divine Company Support 300 Families with Lifesaving Nutrition

In a compassionate effort to promote child health and community well-being, June 9, 2025 the Kingtom Police Hospital, in partnership with Premium Divine Company, has reached 300 parents and their under-five children with vital nutritional support. The initiative took place at the hospital grounds in Kingtom, Freetown, in celebration of World Milk Day, commemorated globally on June 1st.

The beneficiaries included vaccinated police wives and community members, many of whom brought their young children to benefit from both nutrition education and medical screening.

Premium Divine Company, known for producing Cowbell Milk and other fortified food products, led the distribution of nutrition packs and offered education on proper milk consumption. Lionel Thomas, head of the company’s outreach team, used the occasion to speak directly with families about the importance of balanced nutrition, especially for growing children.

Our products are designed with specific age groups in mind, Thomas explained. It’s important that caregivers understand how to properly mix each sachet based on sugar preferences and age-appropriate intake. Good nutrition begins with knowledge.

From the healthcare side, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Dr. John Mumuneh Konteh underscored the hospital’s commitment to health promotion and preventive care. He described the outreach as part of an ongoing strategy to engage directly with the community.

Healthy children begin with informed parents, Dr. Konteh said, this collaboration gives us the opportunity to not only distribute food items but also educate families on the importance of proper nutrition, especially for lactating mothers and children under five.”

Dr. Konteh also used the gathering to raise awareness about the recent outbreak of Mpox (Monkeypox), reminding families to remain vigilant and follow health protocols.

Each of the 300 beneficiaries received a package containing ten sachets of fortified milk. In addition, every under-five child was medically assessed for signs of malnutrition, and those found at risk were referred for free treatment at the hospital, as part of the initiative, Premium Divine Company also donated 20 cartons of Cowbell products to the Kingtom Police Hospital to aid in the treatment of malnourished children.

The event was more than just a distribution it was a moment of hope and care, especially for low-income families in a time when food security and child health remain pressing concerns in Sierra Leone. As the nation continues to navigate the challenges of public health and poverty, such collaborations serve as reminders of what is possible when institutions come together in the spirit of community service and support.
